WHITENING

Teeth whitening – or bleaching – normally involves some of the teeth-cleaning methods, which are carried out immediately beforehand such as “Airflow”.  This allows for optimal results in changing to brighter shades on your teeth.

It is one the quickest and most-effective ways to enhance your smile.  The procedure may brighten your smile up to 4 shades different (depending on each individual) as well as providing a dramatic improvement when it comes to making that first impression.

Procedure can last up to 02 hours (including “Airflow” treatment).

It is important that the whitening procedure be supervised by a professional in order to obtain the ideal results.

BRACES - “Orthodontics” / BONE DEFORMATION - “Orthopaedics"

Orthodontic and Orthopaedics focuses on correcting bites, misaligned teeth at the bone level. According to American Association of Orthodontists, every child should have his first orthodontic appointment by the time he is 7. The theory behind is that some problems like narrow jaw and cross bites can be treated early as the bones are still growing and the jaws still developing. Any oral dental problem too can be located early on, thus saving lots of discomfort and expenses at later stage. If the child starts the treatment early, he has many more options available too. The best option of course will be discussed during the consultation.

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that corrects jaws, teeth and their alignment so that they are positioned properly. Crooked teeth not only look unattractive, it is harder to keep them clean and there is always the risk of losing them to a periodontal disease or tooth decay. Braces are used for correcting the alignment of the teeth, get a better smile, correct a bite or sort out a jaw problem. Your dentist will discuss the best approach during a consultation for effective results. Both specialties look to enhance not only the aesthetics of your mouth, but the overall health and self-esteem of our patients.

DENTURE AND PARTIAL DENTURE FABRICATION

If you are missing many teeth and dread the idea of surgery, dentures will allow you to easily chew food with a removable set of teeth! Our doctor has extensive experience in denture fabrication, and can craft custom dentures for a perfect fit. Dentures are created out of a metal and acrylic composition or completely out of acrylic. A patient’s specific needs and anatomy dictate the design of the partial denture and every effort is made to construct a self-cleansing partial denture that preserves the remaining teeth and oral tissues. Before your teeth are extracted (if needed), the dentist takes measurements and places a denture that will fit your mouth. After the teeth are extracted, the denture is placed when the gums are completely healed. However, you will need to have one or more follow-up visits to monitor the use and adaptation of the denture.

FULL DENTURE or PARTIAL DENTURES substitute teeth and molars with the objective function to have a better oral, digestive health and of course in recovering your smile!

TYPES OF DENTURE FABRICATIONS

  • PORCELAIN VENEERS. Are wafer-thin tooth shells that are placed over the front of a single tooth or multiple teeth, often as part of a smile make-over.
  • DENTAL CROWNS.  A crown is a type of dental restoration that is fitted directly over an existing tooth.  They are custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural ones and be used for:
  • DENTAL BRIDGES are popular because of their affordability and convincing appearance, are just one of the options available to our patients. It is a device used to replace missing teeth — attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges are either permanently attached (fixed bridges).
  • PROTESIS DENTAL REMOVIBLE. You can take it off yourself and put it on whenever you need. Removable dentures are made to measure and do not move - although they are less stable than fixed prostheses - and perform their chewing function optimally, with the advantage that they are more economical.
  • COMPLETE REMOVABLE DENTURE. A complete denture, also known as a full denture, is a replacement or prosthetic device for patients missing an entire set of upper or lower teeth. This appliance replaces natural teeth and offers support for the cheeks and lips. The teeth are made of a high strength, highly esthetic dental plastic, and are held together by an acrylic base, usually gum colored, that either covers the roof of the mouth or is shaped like a horseshoe, leaving room for the tongue.
  • PARTIAL REMOVABLE DENTURE. Partial Dentures are utilized to replace a few missing teeth, when cost or the oral condition does not allow for a fixed bridge or implants. We design your partial denture according to your unique needs, so no two partials are the same. Partial dentures are created out of a metal and acrylic composition or completely out of acrylic. A patient’s specific needs and anatomy dictate the design of the partial denture. We will work closely with you to make sure your new dentures fit well and allow you to eat what you want and get back to your normal life. Recommended when patient has lost too many teeth and placing implants is not a viable option.
  • Restorative purposes; improving the strength, function, and appearance of a tooth.
  • Cosmetic purposes; improving the appearance of one tooth, multiple teeth in the mouth as part of a full or partial smile restoration.

DENTAL FILLINGS

Tooth filling is a type of dental restoration that is made up of various materials such as composite, porcelain, metal alloys, and other materials. The composite material is molded to look like your natural tooth and it is then filled with a material that will restore the tooth’s strength and function.

When the dental reconstruction is too wide, you’ll have only two options which are the following:

Dental Inlay and Dental Onlay are two types of dental restoration that involve the use of a material other than teeth to replace missing teeth.

  • Dental inlays are less invasive than dental implants, and can be used to repair teeth that have lost their tooth structure or have had fillings removed.
  • Dental onlays are placed over the top of natural teeth and provide a strong foundation for crowns or veneers.

PREVENTATIVE TREATMENTS

  • TOOTH FILLINGS Air-Flow Dental Center uses resins and fissure sealants that involve applying a very thin layer of resins to the chewing surface of the teeth to prevent cavities. They are a very effective preventive measure, especially in children and adolescents.
  • FLUORIDE VARNISH Fluoride is a mineral (in gel form) that helps strengthen tooth enamel, thereby making teeth more resistant to decay.  Treatment prevents the formation of cavities and dental sensitivity. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends that children are treated 2 to 4 times a year. Dentists may recommend more frequent treatment for children who already have tooth decay (dental caries) or are at high-risk of developing it. Fluoride Varnish can be used on adults as well, it has been proven to be very effective on patients that suffer from sensitive teeth, have thin enamel or significant enamel erosion (tooth grinding) or have tooth decay.
  • TEETH CLEANING Now, depending on how well you’ve taken care of your teeth at home. This stage can be slightly difficult because gums that have not been flossed daily will tend to be more sensitive. However, we are the first and only dental office to bring to Peru the state of art NO PAIN treatment “AIR-FLOW”, it not only eliminates 100% tartar from teeth & bio film to combat gum disease and tooth decay, it eliminates superficial stains (coffee, wine, cigarette). This procedure includes education the patient on how to properly brush their teeth for an overall personalized oral hygiene.

DENTAL X-RAYS

Intraoral X-rays is the most common of X-rays and presents significant details to the dentist. The dentist rely on these x-rays to look for any cavities and to check the status of the tooth root and inspect the bone surrounding the tooth.

These also provide the condition of developing teeth and the general health of the jawbone and the teeth.

EXTRACTIONS

Our main objective is always to rescue your natural tooth (or teeth).  Nevertheless, there are circumstances where it is inevitable and beyond the point of restoration due to the tooth being severally damaged, infected, fractured or in a abnormal position.

  • THIRD MOLAR SURGERIES. Wisdom Teeth – also known as your “Third Molars” – are commonly extracted either before or after they emerge through the gum line. This is often needed as a result of insufficient space in the mouth to grow, causing them to become impacted which result in a lot of pain, infection and a series of other potential problems in the future.
  • OTHER TYPES OF EXTRACTIONS. Tooth that are caught on the bones and do not descend, short frenum in the mouth (restricting tongue movement & causing speech difficulties, etc).
